Dark Age of Camelot (DAOC) Platinum : Where is it and how do I get it?
Mythic’s Dark Age of Camelot (DAOC) is one of my favorite games. Not only is the realm versus realm combat system (Albion, Hibernia, Midgard all fight each other) fantastic, the game has some of the most thought-out equipment around. Whether you are buying or farming DAOC platinum, with the right amount of DAOC plat, your character can become a virtual god.
DAOC gold and platinum are plentiful if you know where to look. The best way is to buy from a trusted online merchant like FavGames. Another good way to make platinum is to farm monsters from Trials of Atlantis. The scrolls for the different DAOC artifacts all bring in top gold amounts. These artifact scrolls are plentiful if you know where to look. Recent DAOC patches have changed the Atlantean monsters to be easier to kill and TOA scrolls more plentiful. This in turn as made DAOC plat farming much more efficient and easy.
Another place to get some extra spending gold is Darkness Falls. The diamonds that are dropped in here are extremely valuable and can be readily traded for DAOC gold. The numerous crafters on DAOC will take these diamonds and craft valuable jewelry and sell these to the vendors for even more gold. The only problem: Darkness Falls is only available one-third of the time and is usually heavily camped.
As experienced players know, killing high level monsters is the best way to get plat on DAOC. The fastest way to kill high level monsters is PBAOE (point blank area of effect) using such classes as enchanter and necromancer. Take your favorite DAOC PBAOE character into any area with a lot of high level melee monsters, and you are guaranteed to produce a heck of a lot of DAOC platinum.
So, what is the easiest way to get DAOC platinum? Buying DAOC plat from an online game marketplace like FavGames who has DAOC plat for sale. I don’t know anyone would grind DAOC for 24 hours to produce 20 platinum (street value of $15). Seems like a no-brainer. Working at the local coffee shop makes more money that that!
